Oktoberfest Exchange vom 28. September bis zum 5. Oktober 2014

Participant's Report

As a participant of the Oktoberfest Exchange organized by LC Munich from the 28th of September to the 5th October of this year I had very high expectations of the Event, due to LC Munich's very good reputation in EESTEC. Overall I must say that these expectations were met to a high degree.
The application and preparations went smoothly and easily, the only remark would be that the Survival Guide arrived quite late, leaving less time for adequate preparations. The pick-up from the bus station and the initial welcome were very heartly and warm. The first actual day of the exchange we visited the Oktoberfest and were thaught many of the local traditions, while enjoying some of the world's finest beer and perfectly fitting food. Next to the two days we visited the actual Oktoberfest we also had lots of wonderful times enjoying the other activities such as the city rally, visit to the picture-perfect Neuschwanstein castle, a relaxing day of walking through the woods surrounding Munich, picnicking at Andechs, swimming in the Starnbergersee. Despite being a very busy week, the perfectly organized host LC members were able to lead all the participants from activity to activity stresslessly and just enabled us to enjoy our stay and focus on the actual reason we came: socializing and gaining friends in the EESTEC Spirit.
It was perhaps the best event I attended so far and I just don't know how to express my gratitude to the wonderful organizers. I love Munich and LC Munich <3

Organizer's Report

Oktoberfest exchange 2014 started on 28.09.2014 Sunday, and we started that day with a problem: a organiser couldn't wake up and forgot to go the airport to take 4 participants from airport, but we contacted with the participants and we picked them up in the city. On that day we had the welcome party and the next morning we went to the oktoberfest at 10:00, which was a bit hard for the participants, in the night we had a party where most of the participants were tired and wanted to go home. The other day we had the city rally, which is started with a nice baverian breakfast in englischer garten, where everyone felt better again, and at the end of the day everyone was very motivated to party and we had an amazing night. The next day we again went to the oktoberfest, which made all of us again very tired, therefor on the other day we went to the Neuschwanstein castle by train to relax however we didn't check well the departure time of train from there to munich so we had to wait 1.5 hour for the next train, in the night we started partying in the university until the security came and wanted us to leave, so we went to an area, close to the city centre and partied and played games until 05:00 in the morning. The next day we went to Andechs again to have a relaxed time near a lake and to get physically ready for the international night. On Saturday the participants had a free time and they did some shopping in the city centre and in the night we had a bond party however we didn't really have a place to make the party so at the end we went to a club, with our bond-outfits. The last day was the departure day and everyone was very sad to leave Munich and we think the participants had an amazing time in Munich.
